Shared Value Foundation (SVF) is a foundation established under Dutch law. We consist of a board and a small team of researchers. Our board members do not receive a remuneration for their work. Our coordinators and researchers receive a salary in line with (junior) research positions at academic institutes (see CAO VSNU for an indication).
The foundation is grounded within Utrecht University’s International Development Studies (Department of Human Geography and Planning), and collaborates closely with the faculty of Geosciences, and the faculty of Law, Economics and Governance, and hosts an international platform of experts (all PhD alumni), currently working on SDG-related topics, and who are willing to share their knowledge and experience. In addition to facilitating ‘real time impact research’ in different localities, we are the host of various learning communities covering more than a dozen countries across Africa, Latin America, and Asia, working on topics such as inclusive business and food security; forestry and biodiversity; land governance for inclusive and sustainable development; housing and international migration. We have direct working relationships with colleagues in Uganda, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Kenya; Bolivia, Brazil, and Colombia; India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and the Philippines. We have experience in carrying out assignments for international and governmental organizations (e.g., CIFOR, RVO), NGO’s (HomePlan, Wilde Ganzen, Kigezi Mountains Coffee, MVO), and business organizations (Royal van Zanten, SoilCares, Vossen Laboratories).
